A Southern California native, Justin Wilson enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 and served 12 years. He graduated from SWCC Class 30 in 1999 and, in 2004, became one of the first SWCC to complete Selection and Training for Naval Special Warfare Development Group.

Justin began tattooing in 2003 while stationed in San Diego and quickly committed himself to the craft, tattooing throughout training trips and overseas deployments. After completing his service, he moved to Los Angeles to formally study art, earning a BFA (2015) and MFA (2017) from Otis College of Art and Design.

After tattooing internationally and earning awards in both the United States and abroad, Justin opened a private studio in San Diego. Located two blocks from the iconic Windansea Beach, the studio carries the name Windansea Tattoo.

  • Yes. After the initial consultation a non-refundable deposit is required to book your tattoo appointment. The deposit will be applied to the final session of your tattoo.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.

    Shop minimum is $200

  • Yes. Please keep in mind that most cover-ups require more than one session.
